Address Verification

Address Verification

What is Address Verification?

Address Verification confirms that a candidate actually resides at the address they have declared. SpringVerify offers two methods — Digital Address Verification (DAV) and Physical Address Verification (PAV) — so you can choose the right level of scrutiny for each role.

Why should you conduct Address Verification?

  • Confirm the candidate resides where they claim — eliminating false or fabricated location credentials
  • Cross-reference the registered address against criminal records databases to surface hidden risk
  • Meet legal and regulatory requirements that mandate address verification during onboarding
  • Enable smooth communication and build transparent hiring practices

What does SpringVerify verify?

  • Current residential address
  • Permanent address (where applicable)
  • Previous address history — period of stay and proof of residence for each prior location
  • GPS location match against declared address
  • Identity at residence

If there is a discrepancy between the submitted address and verified location, postal verification is also conducted.

Documents required from the candidate

Any one government-issued proof of address:

  • Aadhaar Card
  • Driving License
  • Passport
  • Voter ID
  • Ration Card

If no address document is available: The candidate can share an affidavit on stamp paper citing their stay at the address, or a recent utility bill in their name or a family member's name.

Verification methods

Digital Address Verification (DAV) — Recommended

TAT: 1–14 working days

  1. A secure SMS link is sent to the candidate's registered mobile number.

  2. The candidate's real-time GPS coordinates are captured and matched against the declared address.

  3. The candidate photographs the exterior of their residence and submits a secondary proof of address.

  4. An AI-powered pipeline runs GPS match, face verification, house image analysis, and document checks.

Physical Address Verification (PAV) — For high-risk roles

TAT: 1–7 working days

  1. A trained SpringVerify field agent visits the candidate's declared place of residence.

  2. The agent confirms the candidate's identity and verifies the period of stay with the candidate or family members.

  3. Original identity documents are inspected and geo-tagged photographs are captured.

Coverage: 26,000+ pin codes across India.
