Greenhouse Integration with SpringVerify IN

Integration of Greenhouse with SpringVerify

Info

Overview

This integration enables users to seamlessly initiate background verification checks for candidates. Verifications can be automatically triggered at critical hiring stages — such as when an offer is approved or a candidate is hired — accelerating the onboarding process.

There are two ways to connect Greenhouse with SpringVerify:

  • Flow A – Connect with Greenhouse (OAuth, managed by SpringVerify)
  • Flow B – Use your own Greenhouse credentials (Harvest V3 OAuth)

Flow A: Connect with Greenhouse (OAuth)

  1. Navigate to the Integrations page on the SpringVerify portal. Locate and select the Greenhouse card to begin the integration process.

  2. Click the "Connect" button to enable the integration. "Connect with Greenhouse" is selected by default. Click "Continue" to proceed.

  3. You will be redirected to the Greenhouse permission page. Enter the email address associated with your Site Admin account in Greenhouse and click "Log in to Greenhouse" to proceed.

  4. Check the "Authorize as a service account" checkbox and click "Authorize" to proceed.

  5. You will be redirected to the SpringVerify portal, where a success message will confirm the integration is connected.

  6. Create the required custom fields in Greenhouse and map them to the corresponding fields on the SpringVerify Package Mapping page. Once the mapping is complete, click "Save" to proceed.

  7. Go to the "Report Push" tab and enable the toggle to allow SpringVerify reports to be pushed to Greenhouse.

  8. Go to the "Settings" tab to configure candidate notification preferences. By default, an email is sent to the candidate to complete the BGV form. You can disable the email notification by turning off the toggle. You can also configure the trigger based on the candidate's stage — for example, when the candidate moves to the Hire stage or when an Offer is approved. Update the required settings and click "Save" to apply.

In Greenhouse, add a candidate with the required basic information (Name, Email Address, Phone Number). Move them to the configured trigger stage. Once triggered, the candidate will be automatically added to the SpringVerify portal.

Flow B: Use Your Own Greenhouse Credentials (Harvest V3 OAuth)

  1. Select the second option — "Use your own Greenhouse credentials" — and click "Continue" to proceed.

  2. In Greenhouse, click "Configure Settings" in the top-right corner. Navigate to Dev Center → API Credential Management and create a Harvest V3 OAuth Credential.

  3. Click "Create New API Credential." A modal will open. Select "Harvest V3 OAuth" as the API Type and enter a suitable name in the Description field. Then click "View and Store Credentials" to generate the credentials.

  4. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret and store them securely. Once saved, click "I have stored the client credentials."

  5. In the next window, select the "Harvest" checkbox and grant all required permissions for the Client ID and tenant. Click "Save" to proceed.

  6. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret in the corresponding fields on the SpringVerify portal and click "Save Credentials" to proceed.

  7. You will be redirected to a confirmation window. Copy the Endpoint URL and Secret Key — you will need these to create a Webhook in Greenhouse.

  8. Navigate to the Web Hooks section in the Greenhouse portal and select "Webhooks."

  9. Retrieve the URL endpoint and secret key from the SpringVerify portal and copy them.

  10. In Greenhouse, click "Create Web hook" and input the following details. SpringVerify currently supports BGV for two trigger events:

    • Offer approved
    • Candidate has been hired
  11. Once completed, click "Create Web hook."

  12. After verifying the status, return to the SpringVerify portal to proceed with additional configurations and save the package mapping.

  13. Go to the "Report Push" tab and enable the toggle to allow SpringVerify reports to be pushed to Greenhouse.

  14. Go to the "Settings" tab to configure candidate notification preferences. Update the required settings and click "Save" to apply.
