This integration enables users to seamlessly initiate background verification checks for candidates. Verifications can be automatically triggered at critical hiring stages — such as offer approval or when a candidate is hired — accelerating the onboarding process.

Steps to Integrate Greenhouse with SpringVerify

1. Navigate to the Integrations page on the SpringVerify portal. Locate and select the Greenhouse card to begin the integration process.

   

2. Click the "Connect" button. "Connect with Greenhouse" is selected by default. Click "Continue" to proceed.

   

Flow A: Connect with Greenhouse (Recommended)

1. You will be redirected to the Greenhouse permission page. Enter the email address associated with your Site Admin account in Greenhouse, then click "Log in to Greenhouse".

   

   

2. You will be redirected to the SpringVerify portal, where a success message confirms the integration is connected.

   

3. Create the required custom fields in Greenhouse and map them to the corresponding fields on the Package Mapping page. Click "Save" when done.

   

4. Go to the Report Push tab. Enable the toggle to allow SpringVerify reports to be pushed to Greenhouse.

   

5. Go to the Settings tab to configure candidate notification preferences. By default, an email is sent to the candidate to complete the BGV form. You can disable this or configure the trigger based on the candidate's stage (e.g., Hire stage or Offer approved). Click "Save".

   

6. In Greenhouse, add a candidate with Name, Email Address, and Phone Number. Move the candidate to the configured trigger stage — the candidate will be automatically added to the SpringVerify portal.

Flow B: Use Your Own Greenhouse Credentials

1. Select "Use your own Greenhouse credentials" and click "Continue".

   

2. In Greenhouse, click "Configure Settings" (top-right). Navigate to Dev Center → API Credential Management and create a Harvest V3 OAuth Credential.

   

   

   

   

3. Click "Create New API Credential". In the modal, select "Harvest V3 OAuth" as the API Type, enter a name in the Description field, and click "View and Store Credentials".

   

4. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret and store them securely. Click "I have stored the client credentials."

   

5. In the next window, select the Harvest checkbox and grant all required permissions for the Client ID and tenant. Click "Save".

   Note: Once the settings are saved, you can recheck the permissions from the SpringVerify portal.

   

6. Enter the Client ID and Client Secret in the SpringVerify portal and click "Save Credentials".

   

7. A success message confirms the credentials are saved. Copy the Endpoint URL and Secret Key — you will need these to create a Webhook in Greenhouse.

   

8. Navigate to the Web Hooks section in Greenhouse and select "Webhooks".

   

9. Copy the URL endpoint and secret key from the SpringVerify portal.

   

10. In Greenhouse, select "Create Web hook". We support BGV for two events: Offer approved and Candidate has been hired.

    

    

11. Click "Create Web hook" once complete.
12. After verifying the status, return to the SpringVerify portal to proceed with additional configurations and save the package mapping.

    

13. Go to the Report Push tab. Enable the toggle to push SpringVerify reports to Greenhouse.

    

14. Go to the Settings tab to configure candidate notification preferences. By default, an email is sent to the candidate to complete the BGV form.

    

Section C: Optional Settings

Verify Only Selected Candidates

This setting lets you apply filters so that only specific candidates are added for verification.

Toggle "Verify Only Selected Candidates" ON to enable filtering.

Once enabled, the following fields appear:

1. Read From — Select the Greenhouse source from which to apply the filter. This is a dropdown of relevant candidate/application job fields.

   

2. Greenhouse Field — Select the field to filter on. This includes both standard Greenhouse fields and custom fields.

   

3. Verify Only These Values — Enter or select the specific value(s) for which candidates should be added to SpringVerify.
