How to Find Your UAN (Universal Account Number)

The Universal Account Number (UAN) is crucial for the background verification process, especially when verifying your employment history. If you need help locating your UAN, follow the steps below:

1. Find UAN on Your Salary Slip

Many employers provide the UAN on the monthly salary slip. Check your most recent payslip; it might be mentioned under "PF Account Details" or a similar section.

2. Use the EPFO Portal

You can retrieve your UAN using the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) website by following these steps:

  1. Go to the EPFO website.
  2. Select Our Services.
  3. Choose For Employees.
  4. Click on Member UAN/Online Service (OCS/OTCP).
  5. Under the "Important Links" section, click Know Your UAN.
  6. Enter the captcha code and your mobile number.
  7. Click on Request OTP.
  8. Enter the OTP and the captcha code again.
  9. Provide your date of birth, PAN, Aadhaar, or member ID.
  10. Click Show My UAN.

3. Check Your EPF Passbook

If you’ve accessed your EPF passbook before, you can find your UAN mentioned there. To view the passbook:

  • Go to the EPF passbook portal.
  • Log in using your UAN and password. You should be able to find your UAN details in the account summary.

4. Through the UMANG App

The UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) app allows easy access to government services, including EPFO services:

  • Download and install the UMANG app on your mobile.
  • Select EPFO from the menu, and then choose ‘Know Your UAN’.
  • Follow the steps to enter your Aadhaar or member ID to retrieve your UAN.

5. Via SMS or Missed Call Service

If your UAN is already activated, you can also find it through SMS or by giving a missed call:

  • SMS: Send ‘EPFOHO UAN ENG’ to 7738299899 from your registered mobile number. You'll receive details about your UAN.
  • Missed Call: Give a missed call to 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number. You will receive an SMS containing your UAN details.

Finding your UAN is a simple process, and having it ready will help speed up your background verification. If you still face challenges, please reach out to our support team for further guidance.
